Men'S 1920’S Inspired Hairstyles
Written by Rakelle Maurici in Hair on April 29, 2015 / 1920s inspired hairstyles for menInspired by the 1920s and 1930s when hairstyles were simple, understated, elegant and fashionable. The 'Undercut' or 'Slicked back' is probably the most sophisticated of this era where men demanded the traditional 'short back and sides' but kept the length on top. The main thing for this hairstyle is that the sides are not blended with the top layers, the name “undercut” indicates that there should be definition in between. Ask your barber or hair specialist about using the side and back clippers, you can opt for scissors but this won't give you a cut close to the scalp. A point to note for this hairstyle is if you are thinning out, as it may not be the most flattering style for you. Side Part vs Undercut
The other option for a 1920s-inspired style is the “side part,” again a sophisticated style for elegant occasions. Unlike the undercut, which is meant to have a glossy effect and unless you want to look like a schoolboy, this style isn't meant to look too slick, so stick to matte products.
