First, collect all of your purchased hair goodies to buy one and get one 50% off during the Kroger Beauty event (it runs from September 27 to October 10). If you don't have hot rollers, use a small curling iron and give yourself tight curls. Once the rollers are out, I spray Dove Detox and Purify Dry Shampoo into my roots and tease around the crown to boost volume. When you go all the way around, leave much of the front part of your hair. I had a feather hair clip, but a jewelry clip would be fun too! Easy 1920’S/Great Gatsby Hair Tutorial
Saturday night we all dressed up in our best 1920s/Great Gatsby inspired outfits and went out with makeup and hair, and went to a few different places in downtown Victoria. The 1920s tends to be a pretty common party theme, so I thought I'd share an incredibly easy hairstyle that will have you looking classy and gorgeous in no time! Here is a quick step by step of this easy 1920s / Great Gatsby hair tutorial:Start with freshly washed hair so you have plenty of natural volume. It doesn't matter what shampoo you use, but don't skimp on the conditioner, because you want your hair to look and feel super soft and shiny. I use a fair amount of TRESemmé Luxurious Moisture Conditioner on the lower half/lower ends of my hair and it keeps it looking super healthy even though I have some fade damage (another plus, it Smells good). I recommend TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Protectant as it is a light spray and won't weigh your hair down), start by lightly curling your hair. Curling your hair isn't absolutely necessary for this, especially if you have a natural wave to your hair in the first place, but my hair is very straight, so it helps add some texture for me. Don't pull your hair through, because you want it to rest on top of everything. If you have a bit fancy on your headband like the jeweled part on mine, be sure to tuck your hair in right after that so you don't cover it up. Eventually, you'll come to a point near the base of your neck where you think, "how do I put this long lock of hair in here?" but do not worry. Once everything is tucked in, gently pull the hair from the crown of your hair to loosen it and add some volume. It doesn't leave a crunchy feeling and allows your hair to retain its natural bounce, but also ensures that you don't have flyaways or strands of hair that fall out. It took me forever to do my makeup, so I didn't follow the initial hairstyle I had planned (the tutorial above), but I ended up loving the look of everything.
