The Basics Of Brazilian Cherry Wood Flooring
A type of hardwood, commonly called Brazilian cherry, does not belong to the cherry family at all, but rather to a species of legume, Hymenaea courbaril. As its name suggests, the Brazilian cherry (jatoba) is native to the rainforests of Brazil. Brazilian cherry was often installed during the construction of new homes, and although its use may have slowed down over time, it is still considered a beautiful wood and a viable choice for flooring. Brazilian cherry solid wood planks are difficult to install except by professionals, but engineered wood varieties are available that are easier for DIYers to install. While the wood's popularity among furniture makers and woodworkers may have waned, Brazilian cherry is still considered a very strong and durable flooring material.# Images | Brazilian Tigerwood Flooring
