Depending on your long term plans with the boat, I wouldn't be obsessed with spending the extra money on marine grade plywood. It's a fun project, requiring a good dose of "talent" and it's the perfect time of year to get started. After spending a lot of time looking for aluminum, obtaining it, installing it, covering it... Baltic cherry used on the ground floor, marine plywood. (mainly because I could ply Baltic Birch in 5x5 sheets which fit the width of my hull better.) My floor was also covered with marine carpet, more aptly called marine sponge. On the wood, I glue marine vinyl, and each time I penetrate the vinyl, I inject marine sealant to prevent the screw holes from getting wet.
