Disney is preparing a new film of The Haunted Mansion, which is inspired by the well-known attraction of its theme parks. Casa de los Ezeyza is an old Italian-style family home located at 1179 Defense Street, half a block from Plaza Dorrego in the San Telmo neighborhood, the historic center of the city of Buenos Aires, in Argentina. [1]

It was built to house the family made up of Elías and Eduarda Ezeyza, descendants of the first Ezeyza who arrived in the country from Albistur (Basque Country). In 1910 a primary school was established there, later it was the seat of the National Institute of the Deaf, but after the crisis of 1930 with the arrival of the second migratory current at the beginning of the 20th century, it was transformed into a building where came settle 32 overcrowded families who shared rooms for services (kitchen and bathroom) and had their own for the development of other activities. Description[edit]

The Maison de l'Ezeyza is a typical two-storey construction, developed longitudinally, with three patios (named the Tree, the Time and the Ezeiza) connected by corridors to the northern dividing wall of the land and the rooms to the south, with Italian style galleries on both floors. Two staircases connect two of the courtyards on the upper level (one was added in 1980),[2] and the middle one is dominated by a tree. [2]

The architects who worked on the 1980 renovation restored missing ceilings, floors, doors and windows, moldings, friezes and ornate details marred by years of neglect, while demolishing precarious buildings and makeshift housing estates. [1] In addition, they take advantage of the great height of the rooms to install mezzanines in the shops. [2] And they knew how to preserve the iron columns, the checkerboard tiles of the patios and the pitch pine floors of the interiors.
